Jules Taylor Wine
Sweet, ripe and delicious nectarine, a ripe orange acidity. Price and stockist is for the earlier vintage at time of evaluation. We love talking about our fabulous growers and their good wines. Each month, we share behind the scenes wine stories and you’ll be the first to learn about all the newest presents. After years of winemaking and vintage expertise worldwide and at varied Marlborough cellars, Zoology graduate Jules Taylor launched her eponymous label with 200 instances in 2001. Jules left her corporate winemaking career behind to provide her the freedom to make wines the way she thinks they should be made.
Taylor just isn’t only a sauvignon blanc specialist, she makes unbelievable pinot noir and chardonnay. In 2000, Jules was appointed winemaker at Kim Crawford’s Marlborough Winery and appreciation of her type of winemaking led to the brand’s explosive international development in the 5 years of the new century. Concurrently, Kim insisted that she make wine under her personal label, adamant that she be taught all features of winemaking, from sourcing grapes, glass, labels and the entire different details essential in establishing a brand. The first vintage of Jules Taylor Wines was in 2001. Fashioned from grapes grown to some of France’s most exquisite winegrowing districts, Cuvée Veuve du Verney has been awarded many accolades and medals throughout it is illustrious history.
Mumm Marlborough Prestige Brut Nv 750ml
Working at Marlborough Valley Cellars gave Jules valuable insights into what grew greatest the place, as a result of such a cross-part of the region’s grapes came across its presses. She stayed the course and conquered the curve, but after 18 months decided it was time to see more of the wine world. Jules set off for northern Italy, launching a lifelong “love affair with all issues Italian”.
Jules Taylor Sauvinon Blanc has a radiant light yellow hue, tinged with green and the dominant flavours are fresh and herbal layered over ripe tropical fruit & citrus notes. A fine line of acid ensures the flavours are focussed and leads to a delicate yet persistent finish with underlying mineral tones. Refreshingly dry with a delicate, nicely-roundedness and drinkability. Gushing with peaches, pears and a creamy mouthfeel. I would call this luscious, in every sense of the word.
